Mobile Gas Turbine Generators · Powered by USP&E

Mobile GT Fuel Quality Field

Your mobile gas turbines move fast: new site, new fuel supplier, new hoses, sometimes a new tanker every day. Each change is a chance for water, particles or the wrong product to reach the turbine. On a short deployment, nobody wants to stop for testing, but one bad load can end the job early.

If you accept fuel without checks, you risk blocked filters, damaged nozzles, a trip in front of your customer and a unit stranded on site waiting for repair. That turns a quick bridge-power job into delay, penalty exposure and a damaged reputation.

USP&E Helps You Keep Mobile Turbine Fuel Clean in the Field

We know that mobile power is judged on how fast it arrives and how reliably it runs once there. USP&E has delivered 150+ power projects in 45+ countries, with 25,000 MW contracted since 2002, and our 400+ engineers and project managers deploy, commission and operate mobile and bridge turbine power, so we build fuel checks that fit a fast schedule. We work under ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certified systems with FCPA and OFAC controls. USP&E is a full-service EPC and O&M contractor, not a broker.

Test Every Delivery Before It Reaches the Turbine

Sample every tanker and day tank before your mobile gas turbine generators accept fuel. Check appearance, free water and particles at minimum, and confirm the product and grade against the delivery note. A clear-and-bright check takes minutes and catches many problems.

Carry portable water and particle test kits with each fleet, with simple pass and fail rules written on a card. If a batch fails, it stays in the tanker or a quarantine tank until it is cleaned or rejected. Nobody blends it in to keep the job moving.

Keep the sample. If a filter blocks two days later, a retained sample shows whether the fuel was the cause.

Clean Hoses and Skids Between Sites

Flush your hoses, filters and fuel skids between deployments so fuel from your last site never contaminates the next first fire. Cap hose ends during transport, because dust and rain get into open couplings quickly.

Replace or inspect your filter elements at each mobilisation and record differential pressure at start-up. A high reading on day one tells you that something came with the kit, not with the new fuel.

Agree fuel specifications with your customer before arrival. If they supply the fuel, the contract should say what quality they guarantee and who pays if it fails.

Train every crew member who handles fuel, not only the lead technician. Night shifts and relief crews accept deliveries too, and they need the same checks, the same cards and the same authority to refuse a tanker. A rule that only one person can apply will fail on the day that person is off site.

Plan Cover and the Step to Fixed Power

If a batch fails mid-deployment, your cover keeps the customer supplied. A remanufactured GE Frame 6B or verified used/new gas turbines can step in for longer jobs, and natural gas engines/stations can carry lighter loads while fuel is sorted.

Many mobile sites grow into permanent ones. Leave commercial room for fixed blocks such as the new FX-45 and the New USP&E FX-45 45MW Modular Gas Turbine for the Hyperscale Data Center sector in the USA. AI gas turbines, hyperscale generators and gas turbines for compute can then take over under one hyperscale EPC/O&M team, using the same fuel logs.

Global Offices Behind Your Mobile Gas Turbine Programme

Your team wants answers in its own time zone. USP&E’s offices in Colorado Springs (1755 Telstar Dr, Suite 300) and Knoxville (800 S Gay St, Suite 700) lead your mobile GT site receiving and fuel hook-up conversations in the US, from the first data request to the site visit, so questions about fuel, interconnection and delivery are answered by people who can be on site.

The wider network carries the heavy lifting for mobile gas turbine trailers, Frame 6B bridges and BOP skids: London (162-168 Regent Street) for structuring and finance, Johannesburg (22 Kildoon Rd, Bryanston) for engineering and project controls, Cape Town (31 Brickfield Road, Woodstock) for design and commissioning support, and Wuxi, China (No. 1, Ningzhou Road, Wuxi) for China supply chain and manufacturing.

For mobile turbine fuel control, Colorado Springs and Knoxville teams can prepare test kits and fuel specs before your trailers roll, while Cape Town supports crews on longer deployments. Regions served: USA | AFRICA | UK | UAE | CHINA. USP&E’s reach covers 150+ power projects in 45+ countries and 25,000 MW contracted since 2002, and the company is ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certified.

Proof from Recent Mobile Gas Turbine Projects

You want proof that USP&E has deployed and run turbine power quickly where field conditions were hard. These projects show it.

  • USP&E has refurbished seven GE Frame 6B gas turbines to zero hours in-house for major US hyperscale data-centre developers.
  • Perenco, Guatemala: USP&E delivered a 13.1 MW HFO/diesel modular power station under full EPC in under five months, on time and on budget. Read the case study.
  • NEOM, Saudi Arabia: USP&E supplied three zero-hour Siemens SGT-400 gas turbines as the single technical and commercial interface, and the client reported savings of over $10 million. Read the case study.

HowTo: Control Mobile GT Fuel Quality

Your 3-step plan: 1. Share deployment plans, fuel sources and customer specs under NDA. 2. Receive field test kits, quarantine rules and a cover plan. 3. Deploy, test every delivery and run under accountable O&M.

  1. Sample every tanker and day tank before mobile gas turbine generators accept fuel.
  2. Carry portable water and particle checks with clear quarantine rules.
  3. Flush hoses and skids between sites so previous fuel never contaminates the next fire.
  4. Hold cover with a remanufactured GE Frame 6B or used/new gas turbines if a batch fails mid-deployment.
  5. Leave commercial room for later fixed blocks such as the new FX-45 when sites mature.
  6. Hand fuel logs into O&M and logistics after every redeployment.

FAQ: Mobile GT Fuel Quality Field

What fuel checks should a mobile turbine crew run?

USP&E checks every tanker and day tank for appearance, free water and particles, and confirms the product and grade against the delivery note. Portable test kits make this quick. Your crew follows a simple pass and fail card, so nobody guesses under pressure.

What happens if a fuel delivery fails the test?

USP&E keeps failed fuel in the tanker or a quarantine tank until it is cleaned or rejected. It is never blended in to keep the job moving. A retained sample also shows later whether fuel caused a filter or nozzle problem on your unit.

Why flush hoses and skids between sites?

USP&E flushes hoses, filters and skids between deployments so fuel from the last site never reaches the next first fire. Capped hose ends keep dust and rain out in transport. A high filter differential on day one means contamination travelled with your kit.

Who is responsible for customer-supplied fuel?

USP&E agrees fuel specifications with your customer before your fleet arrives. If they supply the fuel, your contract should state the quality they guarantee and who pays if a batch fails. Clear terms prevent arguments when a bad batch trips your turbine.

Where are USP&E’s offices for mobile turbine deployments?

USP&E leads mobile turbine work from Colorado Springs and Knoxville, where teams prepare kits and fuel specs before trailers roll. London structures contracts and finance, Johannesburg and Cape Town add field O&M depth, and Wuxi supports China supply chain and manufacturing. Every office works from the same project file.

Has USP&E delivered mobile and bridge turbine power before?

USP&E has refurbished seven GE Frame 6B gas turbines to zero hours in-house for major US hyperscale data-centre developers. Public case studies also include NEOM and other fast-moving projects with accountable EPC and O&M. You can read each case study and judge the evidence yourself.

Is USP&E a broker for mobile gas turbines?

USP&E is not a broker. USP&E is a full-service EPC and O&M contractor that engineers, supplies, builds, commissions and operates power plants with its own engineers and project managers, so the team that sets your fuel checks also runs the deployment. You deal with one accountable team from first review to O&M.

How fast can USP&E respond to a mobile fuel quality request?

USP&E can start reviewing your deployment plan, fuel sources and customer specs as soon as you share them under NDA. Engineers prepare test kits and quarantine rules first, so they travel with your trailers, with timing set by your schedule.

Keep Bad Fuel from Ending Your Deployment Early

Get field fuel control right and your mobile turbines run clean from first fire to demobilisation. Get it wrong and one bad tanker trips your unit in front of the customer. USP&E will help you test, quarantine and run every deployment with confidence.
